The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers tease that the great Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) isn’t going anywhere! Sometimes buzz surfaces about Eric Braeden’s departure, but it never turns out to be true. Victor is a staple on the CBS soap, the single most important character, and it looks like the Newman patriarch is going to be around for quite a while.
Eric Braeden recently sounded off on Twitter to clear up any confusion. “I AM NOT LEAVING THE SHOW! Hopefully that will lay this rumor to rest!! But thank you for caring!” Braeden must’ve felt the need to set the record straight after some Y&R fans tweeted that they’d miss him. Victor suddenly left town, which apparently perplexed a handful of unspoiled viewers.
Of course, this is simply a storyline decision. Victor is just taking a brief break from all the drama he created. Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Victoria (Amelia Heinle) hate his guts at the moment. They’re doing everything they can to unofficially kick Victor out of the family.
It broke Victor’s heart to face such rejection. He could take his wife and children turning against him. The grandkids issue is really what tore him apart. Victor has always had ruthless tendencies, but he truly adores the little ones in his life. He tried to be a decent grandpa, even when he was behaving atrociously behind the scenes.
Victor took off to clear his head and possibly track down Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson). He intends on doing whatever it takes to get justice for Adam (Justin Hartley) and restore peace for the Newmans. This gives Abby (Melissa Ordway) the opportunity to make a mess for Victor to fix. The Young and the Restless watchers know she’s in over her head at Newman Enterprises.
Abby will also form an alliance with Jack (Peter Bergman) this week. There’s a good chance Victor will read Abby the riot act for getting tangled up with Jabot. However, Victor should think about being nice to Abby. She’s the only Newman kid who doesn’t loathe him right now.
That’s only because Abby is in the dark though. She may despise her father once someone inevitably fills her in. Victor will face additional backlash, but he’s definitely sticking around.
