April 2024 · 2 minute read

Tekashi 6ix9ine finds himself in the headlines on a regular basis due to his tendency to troll. Following his release from prison, 6ix9ine has managed to secure a top spot in many entertainment news outlets’ categories, but usually for negative reasons, rather than positive ones.

This week, however, 6ix9ine had a moment of reflection regarding XXXTentacion, who was tragically shot and killed outside of a Florida motorcycle shop. The rapper took to his social sharing platform to show off the last direct message that XXXTentacion had ever sent to him.

According to Hot New Hip Hop, it hasn’t been uncommon for rappers to share their last conversations with XXXTentacion before he tragically died two years ago. The outlet says 6ix9ine is just the latest to do so.

On the 8th of July, Hot New Hip Hop picked up on an Instagram Live session between Tekashi 6ix9ine and DJ Akademiks. The session featured Tekashi 6ix9ine reading the last message the rapper had ever sent to him before he went to prison on racketeering charges.

XXXTentacion wrote to him that he should “be safe,” and was supposed to never let his guard down. Furthermore, XXX wrote to him that when he got out, he would have to move smarter, more patient, and be more relaxed as well.

Regarding his future following his release from home confinement, Tekashi 6ix9ine addressed the idea that it’s lame for rappers to have private security. Tekashi explained how if XXXTentacion had security guards, maybe his life would’ve been saved.

6ix9ine argued that it doesn’t make someone a “p*ssy” to have security. It makes them smart and well-prepared. The rapper explained how if XXXTentacion had been surrounded by security, the world would still have a “legend in the making.”

As was noted above, XXXTentacion was shot and killed two years ago during the summer months. Since he died, there have been a number of posthumous releases that have since been the focus of disputes among Tentacion’s remaining family members.
