Remembering Martin Rudd: An Integral Part of Our Campus Community

It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of Martin Rudd, the assistant chancellor for access campuses at UW Oshkosh. Martin’s unexpected departure over the weekend has left our campus community in deep sorrow.

In a message sent out by Chancellor Andrew Leavitt, we are reminded that Martin was more than just a colleague; he was a friend and an indispensable part of our students’ and organization’s success. His contributions to our campus and commitment to our students have left a lasting impact.

In this difficult time, we encourage anyone who is struggling to reach out for support. Faculty and staff can access EAP support services, and students can turn to the campus Counseling Center or the Dean of Students team.

As we remember Martin Rudd, plans for a memorial are underway and will be shared in the coming days. In the meantime, our thoughts are with Martin’s family, and we offer our deepest condolences.

Martin Rudd’s educational journey took him from the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in chemistry in 1991 and his doctorate in inorganic chemistry in 1994. He dedicated his career to the field of chemistry, from postdoctoral fellowships to professorships, including his recent role as the assistant chancellor for access campuses at UWO.
