“Believe in Love” is the title of Kaz Bielinski’s new single, an alt-pop tune with retro savors running through it.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Bielinski grew up singing along with the Beatles. Before long he was playing guitar and piano, which inevitably led to composing his own songs. He started a band, called The Illusions, while in middle school. After high school, he studied political science at UCLA. When he graduated from UCLA, he decided to drive a cab so he could continue to pursue his music. He kept writing songs and performing, hoping he’d land a deal with the big labels.

When the labels didn’t come knocking, he took a job in IT. Later, he worked toward his Masters in Clinical Psychology. During all these career changes, he never stopped writing music and performing. His tenacity finally paid off. His songs now decorate the Top 20 Adult Contemporary charts.

Produced and remixed by Eric Berdon, who has worked with artists like Marc Broussard, Colbie Caillat, and Brett Young, “Believe in Love” features Bielinski’s signature upbeat sound and sparkling lyricism.

“Believe in Love” opens on tight guitar riffs riding a pulsing, contagious beat. The melody is alt-pop, but there’s a retro rock flavor to the tune reminiscent of Roy Orbison, especially on the chorus. Bielinski’s clean, clear tenor infuses the music with yearning passion, as he sings about true love. A delicious catch in Bielinski’s tone, light and reedy, gives the lyrics intense zest.

The chorus shimmers with soft vocal harmonies and a lustrous wall of sound feel. A snarling sax kicks in, braying with skintight ferocity, imbuing the tune with gusto and pizzazz. As the song concludes, Bielinski hits some grand high notes, as if emulating the sax.
