Kanye West And Forbes Magazine Argue Over Text Message Regarding His Recently Declared Billionaire S

Yesterday, it was reported that Forbes Magazine gave Kanye West credit for his financial accomplishments. The outlet reported that Mr. West – who’s known for his marriage to Kim Kardashian, his successful rap career, and his Yeezy shoewear – was worth $1.3 billion.

However, a new report from Page Six claims the rapper isn’t happy – he says he’s worth even more, and Forbes doesn’t know how to count as well as they should. Editors over at Forbes claim the 42-year-old rapper wasn’t happy with his $1.3 billion estimations.

He texted staff members criticizing their arithmetic. Zack O’Malley, a Forbes exec, claimed Kanye had been texting back and forth with them about their estimate and he isn’t happy. He claims he wrote to them, “It’s not a billion. It’s $3.3 billion since no one at Forbes knows how to count.”

Reportedly, Kanye has been displeased with Forbes for a while, especially after not being featured on their billionaire’s list, despite his sister-in-law, Kylie Jenner, who was put on their list once again. Moreover, she was given credit for being the “world’s youngest self-made billionaire” again.

When Kanye was at the 2019 Fast Company Innovation Festival, he said to the crowd that he showed editors an $890 million receipt and they still didn’t want to say he was a “billionaire.” He then went on to say that they were trying to suppress his billionaire status on account of his race.

In Forbes explanation, Greenberg explained that they use the “informal Trump rule,” which means you take their declared value, divide it by three, and then start counting up from there.

As it was previously reported, Kanye West was designated as an official billionaire by Forbes Magazine earlier this week. It comes after the outlet was criticized for referring to Kylie Jenner as a “self-made billionaire.”

The criticism against them doesn’t come from their designation of the reality star as a billionaire, it comes from the use of the term, “self-made,” which social media users argued was a massive stretch, considering the Kardashian-Jenner brand has existed since Kylie was a young girl.
