Round two of judge cuts began on America’s Got Talent July 13th as more hopefuls took to the stage with improved acts, hoping to get through to the live shows.  In addition to this season’s judges Mel B, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, and Simon Cowell – country music sensation Reba McEntire joined the panel on this episode and the hopefuls were thrilled to see her.

The episode began with 12-year-old country singer Kadie Roberson and her story of adoption and growing up with love was told and it’s safe to say most viewers started this episode with tears in their eyes. Her song choice blew the audience away and her young age means she’s only going to get better from here.

There were contortionists, singers, comic acts but this episode, in comparison to round 1 showed more of a strict judging panel, perhaps because they know their job is at one of the hardest stages of the entire show.  Making these decisions isn’t easy.

Reba knew the importance of these cuts and gifted Sofie Dossi with a golden buzzer after her contortionist act – making sure the young lady got to the live shows!

Moya Angela shared an emotional story before her performance about losing her grandma just a week ago, and the passion and emotion in her voice were at an all-time high.  She sang a beautiful version of ‘How Do I Get You Alone’ which brought the judges and crowd to their feet, many with tears in their eyes.

During the middle of the episode ‘Live While We’re Young’ started playing, tugging on the heart strings of One Direction fans, we miss them!

Another emotional story came from a Julia Scotti who almost gave up her dream of being a comedian because she thought she’d lost her spark, but in truth, she realized that even though she was born a male, she identified as female.  It seemed like once that light went off in her head her happiness returned and she made it to America’s Got Talent.

At the end of the episode, only 7 acts would make it through and the judges struggled hard making those decisions.

Julia Scotti, Kadan Bart Rockett, Deadly Games, Vello Vaher, Moya Angela, and Kadie Lynn, alongside golden buzzer recipient Sofie Dossi made it through to the live shows! Congrats to everyone involved, you’ll all go far.
