DISCOVER: Bronnie Releases Spotify-Only Cover Song Of Kim Wilde's "Kids In America"

June 2024 · 3 minute read

We have another cover version from Bronnie, who has released it as her second Spotify-only single. This track is a cover version of the completely catchy song “Kids In America” by Kim Wilde. This is her first release since she dropped her second EP, titled “Get A Grip“. Her previous Spotify-only release was a cover of Little Mix’s “Shout Out To My Ex“, which also got a music video, of sorts.

Bronnie Hughes has been building up her musical career for a few years now and she continues to gain new fans up and down the country and all over the world. She has two EPs out, “Social Rejex” and “Get A Grip“, both of which managed to chart on the iTunes pre-order charts, with the latter making the top spot, knocking Camila Cabello’s “Camila” off the top for all of one day. She’s recently been touring around Europe with Offshore. Her next two tour dates will see her heading to the USA where she will be performing in Wilmington, Delaware, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Many people have covered Kim Wilde’s “Kids In America” in the past, from The Bloodhound Gand to Cascada to The Donnas to the Foo Fighters; however, no one’s quite covered it as amazingly as Bronnie has. This song just suits Bronnie down to a tee as she makes it more into a punk-rock track. This is the exact sort of song we love to hear Bronnie sing, her vocals are on point from the opening lyric to the very last word; she clearly enjoys singing this song, and so does her band, making this the perfect track to listen to when you have the chance. We hope that Bronnie takes inspiration from this track and releases new original music similar to this – because we cannot stop playing this over and over. The original song was written by Marty Wilde and Ricky Wilde

“Kids In America” by Bronnie is available only on Spotify, it is unlikely it will appear on other digital sites, such as iTunes; for those of you wondering why Bronnie has done this, feel free to check out our interview with her about the release of her first Spotify-only release, a cover of Little Mix’s “Shout Out To My Ex”, where she stated: “My fans rock, so instead of making them pay for another song, I’m letting them have it for free!”
