One lucky buyer has scored the keys to a Brisbane home in a nailbiting auction with a whopping 34 registered bidders.

A four-bedroom, two-bathroom home at 8 Picardie Close, Mansfield, has sold for $1.502m under the hammer.

Property agent Penny Johnson from Ray White Bridgeman Downs said a family moving to Australia from Dubai won the keys to the home today.

“The Mansfield school catchment is a huge drawcard, and the buyers have a family,” Ms Johnson said.

“My sellers are happy with the result. It was a phenomenal auction, one for the record books, with so many bidders.

“The whole campaign was a huge buzz. We had 131 inspections in total, and we had 21 second inspections. It was very exciting.“

Ms Johnson said she thought the Brisbane market was still strong at the moment.

“The market is going super strong. I think people are getting a premium for their properties at the market due to low stock.

“When we look at the result of Picardie Close, the number of inspections I was able to generate and engage the buyers, I came expectant of a big result.

“My advice to buyers is to make sure they do all of their homework before, and they’re prepared coming into an auction.”

According to PropTrack data, the median house price in Mansfield between September 2022 and August 2023 is $1m.
